Looking to have some fun with your broth, or just a new amuse bouche for your guests?  Try a Brothtail, then newest trend in savory hot drinks. 


What is a Brothtail?  A broth-based drink consisting of added ingredients such as vegetables, juices or sauces.  There are various types of Brothtails depending on the number of ingredients added.  The origin of the Brothtail dates to Millie's Sipping Broth serving broth by the cup at Seattle's Pike Place Market in the summer of 2014.

Here are a couple of Brothtail recipes that are easy to create and enjoy:


Brothy Mary

Ingredients:

Directions:Boil water to at least 190 degreesAdd Tomato Basil Broth Bag to cup and 8 ounces of hot waterWhile broth bag is steeping, add 1/2 tsp of the We're So Sure Sauce and a dash of the Basil Garlic DazzlerMake garnish with skewerWhen the broth has steeped for at least 4 minutes, then give the broth bag a good squeeze?Serve (for a stronger drink, leave the broth bag in the cup while drinking)

Lemongrass Ginger Hot Brothy

This is a really easy drink that you can make while you are steeping your broth:

Ingredients:Directions:
  1. Boil water to at least 190 degrees
  2. Add Thai Lemongrass Broth Bag to cup and 8 ounces of hot water
  3. While broth bag is steeping, wash ginger and then cut a couple of slices - add to cup
  4. Cut 1 slice of lemon - add to cup
  5. When the broth has steeped for at least 4 minutes, then give the broth bag a good squeeze
  6. Serve (for a stronger drink, leave the broth bag in the cup while drinking)
