Llance: Hi. It’s Llance with Keep Life Tasty and today we’re going to make a panini with our original garlic spread and our new product, spicy garlic matbucha.
The First thing we’re going to do is we will open up our spicy garlic spread and we’re going to put that on your… a lot of people will use let’s say pesto or something like that and to me, there is just not enough garlic in it. So, what we’re going to do is use the garlic version of pesto, which is the original garlic spread. Which does have basil in it, but we’re actually adding some fresh basil to it too.
Eggplant that I cooked, so I’m just going to put that. Next thing we’re going to put, some red onions.
Then I’ve got some avocado. I precut some avocado. This adds a little bit of creaminess to it. And the next thing we’re going to put, actually, we’ve got these spicy pickles. Spicy sweet pickles. Just a couple.
Now, the magic ingredient, which is the spicy garlic matbucha. Which is red peppers, and tomatoes, and garlic. We’re just going to put that liberally on top of there. There we go. Alright.
And my last ingredient is some grated parmesan cheese. You can use Swiss cheese, you can use Gruyere, anything that you like.
So, this is big, as you can see.
Llance: Alright. So, if you come over here, I’ve got my pan already heated up. And what I did is I added a little bit of olive oil to the pan and I’m just going to put that in there like that. I’m going to add a little olive oil to the top because when we flip it over. Then we’re going to be gone. Then you just put some heat foil over the top and then I filled a pot like this with water and that’s just going to keep some pressure on it and heat this.
Original Garlic spread
Spicy Garlic Matbucha
Spicy Sweet Pickles
Grated Parmesan Cheese (or Swiss, or Grier)
Preheat a pan with a drizzle of olive oil. Layer The bottom panini bread with the original garlic spread. Add a layer of roasted eggplant followed by sliced avocado, red onion, spicy-sweet pickles, fresh basil, and Spicy Garlic matbucha in that order. Top with grated cheese of choice and second panini bread. Add the completed sandwich to the heated pan with olive oil. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the top bread and cover with foil. Place a weight like a casserole dish full of water on top of the foil to provide pressure while the sandwich cooks. Flip sandwich halfway through to toast both sides, replacing the weight after flipping the sandwich.
Note: Makes enough for 2.
